Get to know us: Jake
Since 2010, Jake has been been the unofficial face of the Co-op. Over these eight years he has held a variety of positions, from Cashier, to Weekend Supervisor, to Cashier Supervisor, and now his current role as I.T. Coordinator. Since the Co-op upgraded it's Point of Sale System, Jake has been instrumental in setting up, trouble shooting, and maintaining the Co-op's growing database. As cashiers in training are quick to see, Jake knows the register and Co-op layout and routine like a astronomer knows the location of the constellations. As kind as he is patient, Jake is an integral part of the Co-op and it's time that we get to know him a little better!
What would you say is your favorite part about working at the Co-op?
I love how close knit the Co-op community is. My co-workers have become a kind of family away from home, and in 2013 my Mom even worked here. There was a time that I lived a 40 minute drive from the Co-op, but recently I moved closer and I am glad to be so close by once again.
What do you like to do when you are not at the Co-op?
I can often be found working on some kind of graphic design or art project. My wife is an artist, and both of us enjoy being creative. I also love seeing live music and just relaxing at home with my dogs and cat.
What are some of your favorite products at the Co-op?
I am always very excited if I see that there is Chipotle Potato Salad in the deli section, or Coconut Date rolls in the Bulk Section. The kitchen is always so creative with what they make and the date rolls are a great quick and healthy snack.
What is something that we may be surprised to know about you?
Most people are surprised to find out that I have an identical twin brother. He can be found from time to time at the Co-op, so maybe someday you'll run into the both of us!
Thank you Jake! We are so grateful for you!
