Locally made ImmuneSchein ginger elixirs are one of the most popular products sold at High Falls Food Co-op. Not just during the holidays, but all year long. After one taste, most people are hooked-- and feeling great thanks to it's healthy ingredients. Immuneschein is our #1 pick for a gift to give or get. That’s why we decided to chat with it’s creator, Corrina Geib, and learn a bit more about this fabulous product.

First thing’s first, we asked Corrina how she came to develop her elixirs. “Well, the idea of ginger elixirs is very old,” she says, “when I was about eighteen I bought a book in Germany which included a simple recipe for a lemon, ginger, honey wellness tonic and I liked it. I began experimenting with those ingredients to stay well and to naturally treat colds.” Corrina’s continued interest lead her to learn more about natural wellness. “About six years ago I took a workshop where I learned to make tinctures. I came home inspired. I used those principles and the lemon, ginger, honey trio I love so much and my very own elixir was born. I gave it to friends and family as gifts, and the feedback was all very positive. That’s how it all began.”

So why is ImmuneSchein so good for you? “Well,” Corrina says, “because the ingredients are! Ginger is really wonderful for the body. It’s been used for centuries to help with stomach ailments, colds, and inflammation. It should really be a staple in everyone’s diet. Immuneschein makes that easy.” She continues, “Our ingredients are also very simple and high quality. That’s good for the body, too. We strive to use as many local ingredients as possible, like our honey, which is sourced from the Adirondacks. Ingredients which cannot be supplied locally are all from vendor verified sources, so we know that they are genuine, real, and wholesome.”

No need to convince us of how good ImmuneSchein is, the staff at High Falls Food Co-op practically runs on the stuff! We did ask how Corrina suggests people use the product, though. “Well, we always suggest that people try it pure the first time. I watch people's eyes light up every time I give it to someone to sample that way. Ginger is good for blood flow, so it does offer an immediate sensation.”  She continues, “People use Immuneschein in so many ways. Some like it in hot water like a tea, some with sparkling water as a soda, people even use it as a salad dressing, or to create unique cocktails!” We can in fact verify that Immuneschein is excellent in a cocktail.

Thanks to Corinna for taking the time to talk to us and giving us some great information on ImmuineSchein.
